I’m not going to pay attention to whether the face in my Yoast plugin is green or orange or an angry, stubborn red. I’m just going to put this thing up.
You know, I had everything all planned out. I was going to create my inaugural post in January when I finally made my website public. Then, I was going to have timed posts …an editorial calendar, ri-ight?!… that would be all pre-written and scheduled out for February. Like clockwork!
And then I was going to link all of those posts to a fancy Instagram post. So then before I even wrote a blog post, I (of course) had to research how to do Instagram right, right?
So I spent a whole weekend trying to untangle how to get the right brand color scheme filter for the photos and decide whether to use stock photos or make my own photos. And I bought my nifty fifty lens (which I’ve been planning to do since last September) for my flat-lays.
I was gonna be all super-pro. I was gonna be all buttoned-up and do that thing where you pretend to be a newbie and raw and learning-as-you-go, but reeeallly a pro bad-ass whose trying to do things the way someone whose been doing this for years would do it.
And I was like, Stop! The whole thing you’re trying to do is to be real and get out of your own way!! And this kind of thing is classic you getting in your own way!
So. This was not scheduled. This is not at all what I meant to say for my first post. And there is no Instagram story, Pinterest pin, Facebook post or any other social media thing that is planned for it.
For today, ALL I have to do is click “Publish”. And be a total noob about it not be pro at all.
